When Groupon Coupon reached out to me asking me to share about their deals I knew it could save us ladies a fortune on date night planning! So I of course said yes! The financial compensation was an added bonus.
Sometimes as wives, we get to step out of our comfort zone. Especially so when it comes to planning dates. It can’t be all about dates we want to do. But it gets to be a give and take where we and our husbands both enjoy the dates. For some of our men that may mean to plan some “manly dates” occasionally!
When I think “manly dates” I think: fishing, camping, motor sports, hiking, hunting, climbing, shooting, snow sports, archery, woodworking, things of that nature. (I’m not trying to be sexist at all. I know women may like doing these things too! It’s just what I think of as “manly”.) The one thing that many women bring up is that these dates can cost a lot more money because of needed supplies or fees, especially if their mate isn’t currently active in the hobby before planning the date.
No need to stress, there are three ways to plan manly dates without spending a fortune!
- Choose a manly date that includes activities that he is already involved in. This means he already has the supplies or some of his buddies do. Gather up his own supplies and surprise him with a date where you get involved in his hobby.
- Borrow supplies from someone you know. This could be something new for him and you to try together, but that might be considered a manly date. Maybe take him out to someone’s lake house to fish or go on a couples date with friends that have four-wheelers.
- Use online savings like Groupon Coupon to buy supplies. This allows you to save big with daily coupons and offers. Specific stores like Gander Mountain, Sierra Trading Post and Grainger will help you save money on your manly date supplies.
Planning manly dates that your guy will enjoy doesn’t have to cost you a fortune! When we plan appropriately we can create new memories within our budgets. We can create a date that our men will love. And we can create a win/win all around!
What manly date do you get to plan soon?
Until Next Time- Truly Love,

Manly dates…hmm. Not sure! Your neighbor at Messy Marriage!
Great post Cassie! I gave my hubby coupon for a trip to Menard’s a year or so ago. I won’t say it didn’t cost anything, lol, but it was a GREAT guy date! And I enjoyed it too! Visited from messy marriage, we’re in the #63 spot.
Dates can get expensive, manly or not. I am always trying to mix in at home dates, free dates or ways that I can save on the dates I am going to spend money on! I am glad you are finding ways to mix up your dates with your hubby as well!
