It’s true! We our moving! We have a new home! Don’t worry, we aren’t doing anything crazy. It’s only about 5 miles from where we currently live and in the same town. You can check out our first home along with some before, during and after pictures!

We were at a point that we were ready to do some kind of property investment. We started taking a look at some properties that we could rent out. Another option was a duplex where we lived in one side and rented the other. We also thought about what our goals for the house we currently lived in. We decided that it might be best to upgrade our space a bit and use our first house as our first rent house.

Ryan and I started casually looking at houses. Ryan even told our realtor that it might take awhile because we were in no hurry. After looking at a round of houses we had an eye on our favorite. It had only been on the market for a week. It was a steal of a deal. But we also didn’t want to pull the trigger as we hadn’t really planned on making an offer so fast.

I’ll leave out all the details, but within another two days and another round or two of looking at houses we put in an offer! We were holding it loosely knowing that if it was God’s plan it would be ours and if not we would continue looking.

All below pictures are from Zillow.

The front side of our new house.

The front view of our new house!

House3

Looking at the front door. To the left is the formal dining/sitting. To the right is the master suite.

House4

Nearest is the formal sitting. Formal dining is under the light which attaches to the kitchen.

House6

View of living room from the entry way.

House8

View of living room from the kitchen door.

The brown paneling is a must go. It was the first thing we did at our current house. But we see huge potential for this room! And even possibly opening it up to the kitchen a bit.

House9

Standing in breakfast nook looking through kitchen towards formal dining. Got to love that green! For sure a remodel here too with time.

House20

Off the kitchen is the laundry room. Upgrading to indoor laundry! That door goes to a half bath. The garage is attached here as well.

House12

The half bath. I actually don’t mind the green wallpaper here for some reason. haha.

House11

On the bottom floor is also the master suite. For the bathroom think an upside down L shape. The corner of the L is a small room with the toilet and tub. The longer L sides are two sinks. One sink attaches to the master bedroom and one attached outward in the hallway. We are assuming one is for public use and one is for the master. This is a picture of the master side with the walk in closet on the left.

House10

Master room which has no lights! Just a switch that turns on plugins.

House13

Up the stairs there is a little nook. The right door is attic space.

House14

There are three regular rooms upstairs. Which all look basically like this.

House18

Off of one of the rooms there is this extra space that has not been finished yet. The room it attaches to will be our office and this room will be our video room. No more putting up and taking down lights and video screens!

House19

Upstairs bath.

And there you have it! The gist of our new home! We love this house because it was a great deal in a wonderful neighborhood. We have plenty of room for a long time. Not much has been done to the place so we can do our own updates over time, yet not out do the neighborhood if we want to sell in the future. It was a win/win/win for us!

We are so excited and blessed that this is our new home! It was for sure a lesson in trusting God’s plan for us!

Do you have any must do’s for moving into a new house?

Until Next Time- Truly Love,

Cassie
