We are headed off to London on Sunday! If you don’t know the story behind how we are getting to go to the Olympics for FREE you can check out the story here.

This week we have been getting things done and preparing to leave. Once we return from our trip I start school back up just a few days later so that adds a few extra things to get done this week as well. I got the oil changed in the car, mowed the grass and edged, worked on lesson plans (which I have to finish up today) and got my classroom all set up!

I also stocked our freezer full of breakfast bowls for when we return! This is the same recipe as the breakfast wraps its just I hated rolling all the tortillas up so we made them into bowls.

When I did our Walmart run this week for groceries I also got us some snacks for London. We eat quite often- you never know when you might need a snack!

Includes:

Kashi Peanut Butter Bars

Kashi Banana Chocolate Chip Bars

Almonds ( a staple for us)

Cranberries

Homemade Trail mix (Yummy! I need to post this recipe)

Fruit Strips

Raisins

Tuna Packets (Great airport/airplane meal if needed)

Possible a few other nuts

Bringing food with you makes sure you have space for souvenirs for when you come back as most, if not all, of the food will be gone. 😉

We also made sure we got a few things to represent the USA properly! We got USA jackets and polo’s to wear!

And I got some red, white and blue nail polish! Athough I am not sure yet just how I am going to do them. Maybe something simple like the first picture on this site or something like this (minus the tape thing- but actually painting them and blue background w/white star).

Ryan has contacted several Olympic athletes to see if we could meet up with them. Two have responded! So we get to meet some athletes and get them to sign our USA Olympic shirt we bought just for that! Ryan is also working out a schedule for events we want to see and sight seeing to do as well. We are trying to plan it out so we do not waste time in traffic.

We have a few more things we need to pick up before we start to pack:

USA flag (in hopes of giving it to the USA triathlete right before he crosses the finish line)

Umbrella

Ponchos

Eye Masks (with the flight, time change and schedule of events our first day there we will need to sleep on the plane)

Sunscreen (just in case- I mean the temp is only in the 70’s but you never know…?)

And I am sure I am missing something else!

Hopefully it all gets packed!

We will be posting while we are there in London for the 2012 Olympics so look for updates! With the time change and our travels I am not sure exactly when the posts will be updated, but just keep checking back!
