Luau party surprise for Ryan’s 30th birthday was a success! He had no idea!
Ryan’s mom took him out for a birthday lunch which was of course a part of the plan. I told him he needed to be back by two for our birthday plans. When he arrived everyone popped out and said surprise! They had all parked down at the park at the end of our street so he had NO IDEA until he walked in!
Thought I would share some pictures.
To help save money I used decorations from my classroom last year. That is why it was a luau.

Large paper on table for people to color and leave messages on.

Pictures of Ryan’s life on the net.

Coloring, eating and looking at pictures.

Ryan got lei’d by me 😉

Outside station of water and sunscreen.

Games outside: Bob for apples
Coconut bowling

Made tic-tac-toe out of extra wood from the garden and yogurt lids.

Hawaiian game Ulu Maika.

Playing bob for apples with my nephew.

Ryan got his goggles and ear plugs so he could really bob for apples!

Sand dollar sugar cookies. Just put almond slices on top when they come out of the oven.

Pound cake slices with blue whip cream and Swedish Fish candies.

The whole family joined Ryan while he was reading to our nephews.
We managed to keep the party a surprise and we enjoyed spending time with everyone!
I must know have you ever throwing a surprise party for your husband? How did it go?!

I love those sand dollar cookies and swedish fish cupcakes! You are so creative!
Well thanks, but I can’t take credit for it all. I saw the cookies on pinterest. And the cakes were on cupcakes originally I think that I saw. We just used shortbread and cool whip instead of cupcakes and icing because that is Ryan’s favorite kind of cake!
