Last week I showed you Miss M’s elephant themed toddler room makeover. This week I am going to show you the green and pink bird nursery makeover! We moved into our new home back in August, but honestly haven’t done much more than unpack the boxes. No remodeling or decorations on the walls. It was my mission to get the two girls rooms decorated before the baby arrived. Here we are just a mere 5 weeks from our due date and they are complete! With some support from some ladies that are a bit more stylish than myself!
For this project I called on another blogger friend, Paula Tisch, after seeing some of her home makeovers. I told her I was using all the same white furniture from Miss M’s original nursery and that the rocker had green padding. From there she came up with three themes for me to take a look at. Here are the inspiration boards she came up with:
Sheep Nursery:
Peter Rabbit Nursery:
Green and Pink Bird Nursery:

Here are a few extra cute pieces she found on Etsy to add to each room as well:
Alphabet Cards: This could be a wall decoration for any of the themes really.
Peter Rabbit Artwork: Some super cute rabbit prints.
Bunny Crib Sheets: One of a kind crib sheets
Birdie Quilt: I LOVED this quilt, it just wasn’t in the overall makeover budget, especially seeing how we don’t use blankets much until after they turn one.
Tree decal: Cute tree decal spices up a room without needing to paint which was what I was wanting to avoid!
I liked the bird nursery the best! I think the cute tree decals and Pottery Barn lamp sold me! Let’s take a look at how our green and pink bird nursery turned out!
Angle one looking in the door. We kept the same furniture that we had from Miss M’s original primary colors nursery.
Angle two looking in from the door.
I went with a different tree decal than the one linked above, but it is from the same company. And when I was cleaning out things I found my original baby blanket that my great great grandma made for me. It just happened to be green and pink!
The green sheet came from Babies-R-Us and the rug came from Overstock. The rug was the last one in stock so I got it for like 22 bucks! I thought that was a deal!
The rocker and nursing station. I spent a lot of time in this area with Miss M seeing how I nursed until she was 10 months old. Boppy, blanket, lamp and a basket full of snacks!
The canvas piece came from Ross for $4! I ordered the cloud shape mirror from Land of Nod which was on back order for a bit. The wooden bird was a piece I found in the craft section of my local Walmart.
I could not find the lamp that Paula had put on the inspiration board above. So I took it upon myself to make something a bit unique! I looked EVERYWHERE for a bird cage I liked and finally found this one on Etsy. Added some special paper to it and a short 5 foot stand of Christmas lights. BAM… one of a kind light!
Baby changing station with some floating shelves. These were shelves I already had that were in black so when I painted some for Miss M’s elephant room toddler makeover I went ahead and did some for the nursery too.
This little bird I got at Hobby Lobby for half off which I thought was so cute! And this basket made me think of a birds nest. The baskets came from Babies-R-Us. They also have them in gray as well.
Floating shelf gets to have some personalized pictures once we have our maternity pictures done and baby arrives. I read about allowing the toddler to be involved with setting up the nursery. So Miss M and I sat down to do some canvas painting. We added some birds to make it a little DIY art project from her. Why a clock? I liked knowing how long I was nursing for.
The second floating shelf features another picture frame and wooden bird from Walmart that I painted. Along with the baby book. Ironically, we choose it way before we started nursery planning. But as I was filling it out the other day I realized it went pretty good with the nursery! Funny how my own baby blanker and the baby book we chose fit so well with the nursery!
There you have it! The green and pink bird nursery! We are only 5 weeks away from our due date so baby girl #2 will be arriving soon! And apart of me still can’t believe it!!!
Did I miss anything else that might need to be in the nursery?
Until Next Time- Truly Love,
Cassie

It turned out beautifully! Very excited for your growing family!
Thank you, Paula! I am so glad I had some guidance from you on this nursery makeover! When I saw the green and pink bird theme I knew that was the one I wanted to go with!
