Financial Planning as a Couple + GIVEAWAY

October is financial planning month so I wanted to take some time to talk about financial planning as a couple. Ryan and I are firm believers in making sure we are good managers of the money we have been given. There have been several posts about finances before. We have written about finding our your latte factor, how to raise smart money kids and several Dave Ramsey posts.

Having a financial plan as a couple is imperative! I think this is something that needs to take place before marriage.

Financial Planning as a Couple

Ryan and I have evaluated our budget a few times. I tell you what when you start writing everything down on paper it sure looks different than what you thought. I suggest everyone working through a budget plan at least once a year. Here are some budget worksheets that make the job easier.

We also believe in being debt free. When we got married Ryan was free of debt however I had college loans plus I had to get a new car. We also bought a house shortly after marriage. We set out to use Dave Ramsey’s 7 baby steps so that we could be debt free. Using those steps has for sure given us financial freedom!

Making smart choices in spending is another key to our financial planning. We research the cost of things, have a waiting time before purchasing big items and use reward programs to help us save. The savings program that we love the most is DubLi. It is a cash back rewards program to over 4000 online stores including Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Apple, BuyBuyBaby, Sephoria, Old Navy and SO many more! We saved $25 on our last hotel stay and get 7-14% cash back at most of the stores. The best thing about it is you can use it for free! We chose to upgrade to a paid VIP membership (think Costco membership) to get the most cash back. But with as much shopping we do online and traveling it is for sure worth the membership fee!

I encourage you to check out these resources to help you do your financial planning this month! But before you do read the details below about the giveaway to find out how you could win a FREE year VIP membership from DubLi.

My husband and I have recently purchased a house and this program would help with buying items for the house

My husband and I desperately need to be on a budget. I know we could benefit from it in tons of areas. I find myself being too busy to do the price comparing that would be helpful.

Having 4 small children, a home load, and 2 credit cards that are slowing climbing up, we would love to have help figuring it all out.
