Unique At Home Date That Impacts Others

Do you wish you could go on more dates? According to a study that Care.com did they say 85% of parents wish they could have more dates. Which means there are good odds that you are like me- that you wish you could go on more dates. Right? What about impacting other’s lives? Is that also something you enjoy doing or want to do more of? Again, if you are anything like me the answer is yes. Since having our second little one these are things that have been on my mind. How can I incorporate dates more often with two small children and how can I ensure I am impacting lives outside of my home.

I have discovered with a little bit of creativity I can still manage to do both of these things while having some fun with my husband! For date night this week we used some adult coloring supplies from Oriental Trading to create some random acts of kindness. I ordered our supplies, now we will have our date night of coloring the items, and later these things will be given to others. Let’s take a look at exactly what the plan is.

• Cards: Write a note to a friend or community helper. Handwritten notes are a rarity so they are appreciated so much these days.
• Stickers: After these are colored take them to a teacher to give to her students or to a children’s hospital. The smallest things can brighten a child’s day.
• Bookmarks: Take these colorful pieces to a retirement center or even to your local library. Each time the person reads they will think of the random act of kindness they received.
• Coloring Book: Color a picture for someone who is not feeling well. Or if you want a bigger project take your coloring book and colored pencils somewhere to volunteer some time with youth. Places like shelters, after school programs or mentoring programs.

Having a unique date at home of adult coloring can easily be turned into impacting other’s lives. Have a good time with your husband with an at home date. Have a family outing to deliver the items to places. Impact lives around you in your community. That all sounds pretty great to me! And to think it can be done so easily. We have all heard the benefits of coloring, but who knew these could be some benefits as well?
