Kristal over at The Strong Family Blog tagged me back in December to do this post. I thought it would be a good post to do in the new year just letting you get to know me a little better. So here we go…
11 Facts About Me
1. I never wanted to have my own kids. My plan was to teach little ones all day and come home to peace. Now I no longer teach and I am pregnant. It took meeting the right man to change my mind.
2. Speaking of the right man- I have been married a little over 2 years and 2 months. He truly is my best friend and the only man that has ever understood me.
3. In 2013 I read 18 books. I love to learn.
4. I have ran two marathons. Once I did my first one I knew I could do anything in life.
5. Speaking of marathons- this is what has allowed me to know that I can birth a child naturally and I plan to. Along with believing God designed our bodies to do just that!
6. My husband and I run a youth motivation speaking business. Every time we go to a school I am in awe. You can find out more about our speaking on our website.
7. I make lists. I am a doer.
8. Helping and inspiring people is a passion of mine. In my early years I mistaken this characteristic of mine to think that meant I should be a doctor. Once I realized I passed out upon receiving shots I decided maybe a doctor wasn’t my thing.
9. Sweets were my thing. Chocolate and ice cream. In 2011 and 2012 I gave up sweets while marathon training. In 2013 I gave up sweets almost entirely with a few special exceptions. I plan to have less special exceptions in 2014.
10. Traveling is one of the best things you can do here on earth! I think everyone should do it! I have been to New Zealand, Australia, Jamacia, Bahamas, Switzerland, London and a chunk of the States. This is only the beginning!
11. I studied in New York for a semester. That is really when I had a shift change in my life. I am so glad that I had that experience!
My 11 Questions
1. What do you love about blogging?
I love getting to connect with people! Like I mentioned above one of my passions is to help and inspire others and through blogging I get to do this!
2. What does a typical day look like for you?
We get up about 5 am or earlier. I do a morning ritual which consist of drinking water, stretching, breakfast, devotional and up to an hour learning about something I am interested in. After that I do blog work. Head to the gym. Any meetings, errands and phone calls last until 4:30. Ryan arrives home then. We cook and have dinner around 5:15. Relax time until about 7pm. Then it is time to get ready for bed. Each night I try to journal and read. We are in bed between 8 and 8:30 pm.
3. Do you have any “guilty pleasure” TV shows?
Well we actually don’t have a tv…but I do watch a show or two on Hulu occasionally. I watch Grey’s Anatomy. I sometimes will watch America’s Next Top Model, Secret Millionaire or Undercover Boss.
4. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Anywhere that has nice climate all year long! I am tired of this cold winter so early in the year!
5. What’s the most important thing I should know about you?
Once I set my mind to something I get it done pretty quickly and work hard on it.
6. What’s one place you have to visit in your lifetime?
I really want to visit Poland. That is my background. Honestly I would like to stay for about 6 months or a year to learn the culture and language.
7. Do you have any summer vacation destinations you visit yearly?
Each Memorial Day weekend my whole extended family rents cabins somewhere. We hike, canoe, make homemade ice cream, etc. It is always a fun time. I think we have been doing it each year since either 2000 or 2001 so I was a kiddo when we started doing it.
8. Do you prefer the ocean or mountains?
I don’t think I have been to the mountains. I am not a beach bum and would probably enjoy hiking more so.
9. What’s your favorite flower?
Daisies. Although I don’t like to get too many flowers because they just die and that was money. I’d rather have hand picked flowers or something else from your money that doesn’t die. 🙂
10. If you could do anything without fear of failure, what would it be?
Oh… that one is hard…I don’t think I don’t do things because of fear. Sometimes its hard to choose which projects I want to do because of time and money. If time and money were no object I would do lots of things. (These all are on my bucket list and plan to do at some point!) Write a children’s book, produce a cookbook, create a greeting card, go on a hot air balloon ride, instruct a fitness class or running program… the list goes on!
11. Do you get up early or stay up late?
As you could tell from the question above asking about my routine you can see we are early to rise, early to bed!
I hope you enjoyed finding out a little about me today. My hope is that this post allowed you to get to know me a little more. To know that I am a real person that struggles with things in life just like you. A person with passion and desires just like you. I know sometimes I might just be this person behind the posts, but I really want to be able to connect with each of you.
If you could only tell one thing about yourself to someone what would it be?
Until Next Time-Truly Love,

Thanks for doing this! I loved getting to know you even better!! I’m envious of your visit to Australia. Robert and I were talking about that not too long ago, in fact. We’d love to visit there sometime. 🙂

Loved learning more about you! I can’t believe you get up at 5am. Yikes! You sure pack a lot into each day though. The one thing I would tell people is that I have the most supportive, worry-wort, but loving parents in the world.

We do go to bed at like 8 though so it’s probably about the same as everyone else gets. The hours are just shifted 😉
Jess @ Clean Lean Mommy Machine says
Such a fun post! I don’t think I could just say 1 thing about myself to someone, I’d tell them that I moved away from my hometown when I was 18, lived in 3 different states, and then once I had a family realized I needed to get back to my roots. 🙂
Cassie says
Jess that is an important fact that makes you who you are I am sure!
