I can not believe we are already 6 months pregnant! That seems so crazy to me! With the holidays coming up it will be no time before this second bundle of joy joins us. I am already going around like a maniac on a mission trying to get things done before she arrives.
When I was pregnant with Miss M I was working from home and had the luxury of doing what I wanted to do all day long. I took monthly update bump pictures and added cute text. I wrote to her in a notebook every few weeks before she was born. I set up parts of her room as the pregnancy progressed. I even had time for naps and work!
This pregnancy has been a bit different in that regard because of course now I have Miss M to care for. My work time has always been before she wakes up (starting as early at 4:30am some mornings) and her nap time. Well let’s just say in the early days of this pregnancy the million dollar question was always do I sleep or do I work?! I also don’t have cute details on the bump updates (or all the bump pictures for that matter) and I certainly have not wrote this baby as much.
Honestly, the first three months of this pregnancy up until about week 14 I feel like the only thing I did decent was make sure this family ate and slept. Other than that, I didn’t do much. With this pregnancy I was a bit more sick. Still nothing horrible, but I felt bad for most of the day and easily got motion sick. Plus, I felt way more exhausted! Maybe that was just chasing a toddler around. Or maybe because we moved. Or maybe just life in general.
Whatever the case, I have been trying to find a peace about the difference of things. It’s not that I love this baby any less or not excited about bringing her into the world. It is just a different time and phase in life. Hopefully, at some point when she is older she will understand. I am continuing to learn to create time for what is important, say no to some things, not create random things for myself to do and have joy in whatever my day holds. It’s another one of those transition times for me. Much like when Miss M was born and I am sure will happen again with baby #2.
So let’s get onto the actually pregnancy updates…
We are currently 24 weeks pregnant and have a due date of February 8th 2017.
I told Ryan with the same pair of shoes that I used when I told him with Miss M.
We told our family at Miss M’s second birthday party.
About Baby:
Gender: It’s a girl!
Weight: About 1 pound
Length: About 12 inches
Heart Beat: In the 140’s
Movement: I started feeling her move about week 17. Ryan felt her move at week 20. I feel her more and more now.
About Mom:
Weight: I’ve gained 16 pounds
Symptoms: I’ve had a few contractions and pelvic/back pain on and off.
Cravings: Sweets, salsa and cold water
Running?: I’m calling it quits this week. I stopped running with Miss M at about 16 weeks so I made it longer this time! But I’m having some pains that make me think it’s better not to run.
See I missed week 12 all together! Sorry sister we were on our Hawaiian Anniversary trip then trying to get moved!
Here is a little comparison between the two pregnancies. You can check out all the bump updates from Miss M’s pregnancy and her crazy birth story too if you would like!
About Dad:
He feels her move, rubs my belly and talks to her.
He wants to name her some historic name from the show The Vikings like Lagertha (Not happening!)
About Big Sister:
She tells people that mommy is going to have a baby sissy.
She likes to hug my belly and kiss my belly button.
She likes to get involved on picture day…I was trying to get a cute picture of her looking or touching my belly. She wanted to jump instead. We will take it! haha. (Ignore that she is half naked. Last time she was featured on the blog she refused to change out of her pj’s so there she was mid day in pj’s! )
So there you have it- pregnancy number two update at 6 months! Now I am off to hang blinds in the girls room, or search Pinterest for nursery ideas, or something to prep for this baby’s arrival!
Until Next Time- Truly Love,
Cassie

How exciting for you and your family!
How exciting! Congratulations!
Congratulations. So happy for you. I loved all the photos.
Thanks, Amy! It’s always fun to see the progression through pictures.
congrats!!! So excited!!!
Congratulations!! I think my favorite part is your daughter trying to jump at the end. Seriously, that sums up life with kids right there.
I know right, Heather! Had to throw in some real life pictures! Half naked kid jumping around!
