Last Saturday Ryan and I shipped Miss M off to one of her grandma’s house for her first sleep over. I won’t lie I was a little nervous, but knew they would do fine. I am not going to lie I had been looking forward to the night off for weeks! What did we do with an evening without a baby? Well…we played laser tag!
Let me give you a little back story. For our first Christmas I did the 12 Days of Christmas for Ryan. Our second year together I gave Ryan 12 dates for Christmas. One of the dates was to go laser tagging. That was Christmas of 2013. We still hadn’t gone yet! So this year for Christmas Ryan bought us a laser tag membership off Groupon for my Christmas present. So like I said we shipping the baby off and headed to laser tag!
Hard Knocks recently opened here in Tulsa. It is a mission based laser tag facility. Instead of focusing on your own scores it is all about completing a mission to see what team wins. We ended up playing three missions. Mission one was team against team. Mission two was four teams all against each other. Mission three was a revenge series. We started with two teams, but the first 6 to die got revived to a new team. Then, you went to get revenge on the team that killed you AND the team that let you die.
It took me a bit to figure out the weapon, reloading, aiming, etc. On all three missions I was the second person to get out! What a bummer! But at least on the third mission I got to come back into the game. On the revenge mission I ended up killing Ryan and survived to the final four! I was proud of myself! I do have to say it is about team work. You have to partner with someone and communicate. On the revenge mission I was able to get someone to work with me which is what helped me survive longer. That will totally me my strategy for next time!
Ryan and I had a blast! It was something different and exciting. You for sure get a workout in too between squatting behind stuff and running around. It confirmed my thoughts on it being one of the four dates every wife should plan!
We also got an amazing deal on the whole thing! Ryan bought it on Groupon. We get 8.4% cash back for using Dubli (an online shopping cash back site) when we shop Groupon. We didn’t realize it was their opening night, but since it was they had free pizza. We took advantage of that and had a little snack. They also had some giveaways which we won a gift card to the new trampoline park in town! We for sure got our money’s worth!
Ryan and I will be returning to do some more missions for sure. We still have three more on our card, but can add more as well. I think Ryan is going to try to come after me next time though since I have a kill on him!
When we left there we tried to see a movie, but it was sold out. We ate at a Mexican place we hadn’t tried before and then headed home for a good nights sleep. I have to say our laser tag date night was a success! We are looking forward to doing it again!
What is your favorite date night?
Until Next Time- Truly Love,
Cassie

This brings me back to birthday parties when I was a kid! What a fun and wholesome and different date night! Anything different and new is great!
What?! You must have been a cool kid growing up. 😉 I never went to laser tag as a kid. And I grew up with two brothers. It was something completely different since I had never done it before. I think it takes a little practice- haha!
Sounds like a blast! You two are awesome and your stories an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.
Well thank you Steve! We played mostly with younger kids, but hey we are all kids at heart right?!
