The new year is here! It is now 2015. I sit here wondering what will be different this year than last year and the year before? What will it take to reach more of my goals? What have I not been willing to do previously that I will be willing to do this year?
I read somewhere awhile back that today was National Motivation and Inspiration Day. A reminder to start the year off knowing that it’s not just January where we need to be motivated or inspired, but we need those things EVERY DAY to reach our goals and dreams.
For me personally quotes are a great reminder. I enjoy writing them down and posting them where I can see them. I will search for certain ones on topics that I need. Today, I wanted to share a little something with you that I use when I need a push of motivation or inspiration.
This is a ring of quotes that I put together back in 2011. I had completed my first few races- a 10k, 15k and a half marathon. I decided I wanted to go for a full marathon. I made the choice and was all in. I got some new shoes and implemented a track workout. It wasn’t long before one of the two caused me a knee injury. I was no longer able to run. In the midst of marathon training. I decided that was not going to stop me. I started putting my run time on the elliptical instead. It was torturous! Not being able to run and the mental aspect of not knowing if I would be able to compete with so much time on the elliptical instead of actual running.
I decided to make the above ring of quotes to take to the elliptical with me. I had previously read The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson (one of the best personal development books) and knew there were some great quotes in there. I pulled the book out and started writing down some of the great nuggets.
So today I am going to share with you just a few of my favorite. Keep in mind that even though I made them for my workouts they do apply to life in general. Marriage. Family. Personal goals. Struggles. And so much more.
Here are a few extra nuggets of awesomeness for you:
“There is one quality which one must possess to win, and this is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.”
[ctt title=”A simple positive action repeated over time.” tweet=””A simple positive action repeated over time” -Jeff Olson That is what will help you accomplish your goals! @trueagape” coverup=”WbbKm”]
“Negative and difficult things happen to us all… It’s how we react, how we view those circumstances and conditions that make the difference between success and failure- and that is completely within our control.”
Feel free to print these out. Write them down. Find your own quotes. Put sticky notes around. Do whatever you need to do to remind yourself on a daily basis what your goals are for 2015!
What is one of your favorite motivational quotes?
Until Next Time- Truly Love,
Cassie

Thanks for the book recommendation. One of my all time favorites is The 4:8 Principle by Tommy Newberry. Of course Pinterest is an amazing source of inspirational quotes as well. I just found your blog the other day and have enjoyed clicking around.
I love the quote about not being afraid to go slowly as long as you’re not just standing still. Great message!
I often times have to remind myself of that, Pam! Now with a baby it takes longer to accomplish things. I am running again but no where near where I was. But it is okay! I am making progress and moving forward!
