Tomorrow Ryan will be competing in his 4th Ironman distance triathlon! At the last three races Ryan has done pretty well on the swim and the bike, but once he gets to the run he is physically and mentally tired! After 2.4 mile swim and 112 mile bike that is way more than understandable! However, that doesn’t make it any easier watching him push so hard. I always want to do something to help him through it. So this timeĀ I decided Miss M and I would make some motivational signs to put out on the run course.
Two days before we were suppose to be flying out to California I had poster board, poster board markers, scissors, ink pads and crayons all spread out across the living room. All while our suitcases sat there empty. Because I didn’t have enough to do already before we left! Lets add making some signs!
Well this is what we came up with…

Washable ink on baby’s hand wasn’t so washable!

Look at her face! Ha. I just had to add this picture. She was excited about the signs too!

Then she wanted to give me some love. Really I was trying to take pictures of our signs!

I hope this gives Ryan some motivation on those 26.2 miles!
I decided to use some phrases that I know empowers Ryan. Phrases that he uses during his training to pull from. During races sometimes our minds start to shut down because we go into survival mode. But having some signs that remind him of positive phrases will help spark those reminders for sure.
Our signs say:
U R Strong
Remember Why You Started!
Go Daddy!
What is your why?
You are GREATNESS!
Do the THING and you shall have THE POWER
I also wanted to make a sign that said “Successful people do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do.” but it was a bit too long for the size of my poster board.
What is something you would put on a sign to motivate your athlete?
Until Next Time- Truly Love,
Cassie

Way to go mate – hardcore! Hope you went great!
The water for the swim was freezing so that was a bit rough, but he managed to get through the swim and continue to finish the bike and run to be able to be called an Ironman once again.
