I am a brand ambassador for Oriental Trading Company. That means they sent me free products to share our ice cream party for toddler with you. But all opinions are my own and I strive to only share content that you will enjoy!
Miss M is getting so big! This last week we celebrated her 3rd birthday with our family. For her first and second birthday I chose the themes based on her interests. Her first birthday was The Hungry Caterpillar and her second birthday was an Elmo theme. But this year she was big enough to make her own birthday plans.
While looking through an Oriental Trading birthday theme catalog she narrowed it down to her top three choices: girl super hero, painting party or pool party. I asked her for about a week which one she wanted. She just couldn’t narrow it down! Then, one day we were on the couch looking through the catalog again. As I turned the page next to one of the themes she already liked there was a page of ice cream party theme. She got so extremely excited and wanted an ice cream party. After days of asking her what party she wanted. She continued to choose the ice cream theme. And that is how we ended up with the ice cream party for toddler!
For her first two parties we did not have cake or ice cream. We had fruit options. However, when she saw the ice cream theme she immediately asked if she could have ice cream at her birthday party. We opted to let her have ice cream at her ice cream themed party, but we left out cake. We got some ice cream cones, fruit and some cookies.
When I looked in the Oriental Trading catalog and then later online I was happy to see that they literally had all the supplies that we would need. Everything from napkins, bowls and cups to center pieces, garland and table clothes. Beyond that they even had serving trays and party favors.
Using a cake stand to display the toddler cups that were shaped like ice cream added some height to the table. These cups were used by the kids and then taken home as a party favor.
Displaying cones in a clear bowl added another dimension to the table. Adding colorful fruit to a three sectioned serving tray made it easy clean up. I ended up getting the large bucket at the store when I picked up the ice cream because I realized I had not planned any way to keep the ice cream from melting while it set out for the party.
The Oriental Trading website even has decoration tips and ideas which is where I found the idea for the large ice cream cones. I ordered the large brown construction paper along with string from Oriental Trading. I already had balloons and red foam for the cherries. These ice cream cones hung over the table, but I also had an extra one to place on the table.
I have to say my favorite product was the cups. They are just so cute! And the kids cups had to be Miss M’s favorite. She is still drinking out of it!
Here is the birthday girl so excited for her ice cream party for toddler. I think technically this is the last time I get to call her toddler… Isn’t three the end of toddler years?! AH!
Family photo before getting the party started! She was ready to eat ice cream, have us sing Happy Birthday to her and open presents.
I know this picture is blurry, but I just had to share! She had swim lessons a few weeks back and has been asking for goggles. Her grandpa got her a pair. She wore them in every picture after she opened them. She has been wearing them nonstop since the party! Funny girl!
Our ice cream party for toddler was a hit! Everyone enjoyed the party. I got compliments on the decorations. The one stop shopping at Oriental Trading made it super easy to plan the party. Check out all the “I Scream For Ice Cream” themed party supplies that Oriental Trading has.
