Avocado Banana Chocolate Smoothie

Now that I am getting further along in my pregnancy I have been wanting to eat more smoothies. I think this may be for a few different reasons. 1) I don’t want to cook. 2) I am hungry often and get tired of eating. 3) I am wanting sweets. So eating healthy smoothies seem like a good alternative to me. I do always try to add some or all of these things: Greek yogurt, walnuts and/or 1% milk so that I can add protein to all those delicious carbs that the fruits and veggies give me. Today I am going to share a very unique recipe as you can tell by the title!

This avocado banana chocolate smoothie satisfies the sweet cravings and is as smooth as a milk shake!

Avocado Banana Chocolate Smoothie

Ingredients

1/2 avocado

1 medium banana

1 or 2 tablespoons of coca powder

1/4 cup plain or vanilla greek yogurt

milk

Avocado Banana chocolate smoothie

Instructions

1) Peal avocado and banana.

2) Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

I would start with 1 tablespoon of coca powder and a splash of milk. Add more coca powder for stronger flavor. Add more milk to make it desired consistency as it will be quite thick.

3) Enjoy your guilt free treat!

Until Next Time- Truly Love,

Cassie

I hadn’t either until I saw something like this. It makes it really smooth though!

One of these days, I’m going to have to get over my fear of avocado! LOL I am so afraid I won’t like it, probably because I didn’t like guacamole when I tried it, that I just can’t make myself taste it. When I do decide to buck up and try it, I’m going to try this! 🙂

Thanks for having me as part of the link-up!

Guacamole can really change the flavor of avocado! I never use to eat avocado plain but ate guacamole. I was so surprised of the taste an avocado had on its own! Thank you for joining us!

Mia- It does make it a bit different, but it makes it nice and smooth. A good way to get in some good fats too!

That smoothie looks yummy, but then again it’s hard to go wrong when there’s chocolate involved!

Alex- This is true! Although it is not a really sweet chocolate it is a bit bitter since it is coco powder. But it is still so yummy!

I can always go for anything with chocolate in it. Especially when it’s this healthy. When I saw smoothie, I was worried about having too much fruit juice, which most people don’t realize is so high in natural sugar/carbs. I was happy it didn’t have any in there. I can’t wait to try this. Glad I stopped by. Blessings to you.

Kim- I do have to say I love myself some fruit smoothies even with all that sugar. But I look at it as better having that than a candy bar. I really liked this recipe because it gives you the good fats from the avocado, but you get some chocolate flavor too!
