This is a guest post from Misty, the owner of CreekBaby. After working with her on a Pinterest project and loving her beauty products, Arawark powder and rock soap, I wanted her to be able to share more about her beauty hacks. Today, she is sharing 5 beauty hacks for busy moms, just like us!
In college I babysat for a sweet mother of 2 boys and would tell myself “when I’m a mom I will not wear sweat pants everyday and I will fix my hair” – and to this day I have kept half my promise and have only worn “pajama” pants – yes there is a difference.
Seriously though finding time for beauty with kids is not as easy as my fellow inspiring influencers make it look. I am literally thinking of all the things they need for our trip out the door and all the places we need to be and who I forgot to call or email before 8am. And somehow I am supposed to magically look like I did back in college. Um…sure. Let’s be real. We need help – if we can keep as many outward elements of our life as simple as possible it gives us more time to focus on what really matters. So if you find yourself failing in your self-care, check out these 5 simple beauty hacks:
5 Beauty Hacks For Busy Moms
1.Shave legs with an oil like the CreekBaby Coconut Body Creme or olive oil. This will keep your legs so moisturized that you won’t have to apply lotion after the shower saving you time. Also I love saving money by using one item for multiple uses. No more buying expensive shaving lotion and body lotion. You can also do this with hair conditioner, but I found it not moisturizing enough, especially during winter.
2.Mix your face lotion with your foundation or concealer in the palm of your hand vs applying each separately. This saves so much time and it makes it easier to apply without streaks.
3.Drink water in your coffee mug before you get a cup of coffee. Every one knows how important it is to drink water, but sometimes it’s hard to actually drink enough to cover what your body needs so if you tell yourself you can have coffee after you drink this cup of water – it makes it a lot easier. You can read more about how water is vital to youthful supple skin.
4.Dry shampoo! Can I get an amen? Seriously when my friend introduced me to the concept 12 years ago she was ahead of the explosive trend. The problem for me is that I don’t want to spend $10-$15 on yet another beauty item. So I actually use the CreekBaby Arawak Face powder to lift my roots from excessive oil. If I can wash and style my hair less times throughout the week then I might just have time to sneak a peek of my favorite show or movie – cough cough Mr. Darcy here I am – shy girl in the corner, hand raised – yep over here.
Arrowroot is in the Arawak Face powder and is the key ingredient in most natural dry shampoos. So after I brush the finishing powder over my face, I dab a little in the roots of my hair working it in with my fingers and done.
5.Invest in a beauty caddy or bucket. We spend so much money on our beauty items that we miss one of the most important tools – yes a caddy or basket to store all these helpful items in. You can find cute little crates or metal bins at an outlet store or dollar store. This makes it so much easier finding what you need in the morning and cleaning the bathroom counter after the morning rush.
These are just 5 and I’m sure there are more out there so please share by posting below! And let me know if you have any questions or would like to know my essentials in my beauty caddy.

Shaving your legs with oils is GENIUS!!! I’m ordering some of that stuff ASAP. Seriously.
Great tips! <3
Glad you liked the tip! I am loving multi use products these days!
