KiZE GuysWe’re a joyful group of people with a mission and passion to “Fuel” people’s best through food (Our KIZE Meals, and Bars), services, and community building initiatives around the world… to change the world… for the better, and help people, businesses, and communities be their best! Today, we want to share with you 3 rules for a healthy spring break trip.

Note from Cassie: I was introduced to KiZe bars and their mission at a running expo. I was impressed with what they were up to along with them being a local Oklahoma company. This is not a sponsored post in any way, but rather a guest post from them as a form of supporting a local company!

THIS IS IT, your Spring Break trip is finally here! This is the time you have been preparing for since January! The time for tank tops, and bathing suits has finally arrived. Time to hit the road towards the sunshine!

You have made so much progress towards a HEALTHIER YOU in the past 2-3 months!

How do you keep that going during Spring Break? While still enjoying yourself, enjoying your trip, and ENJOYING your life?

That is the question we are here to ANSWER!

We want to provide you with 3 pieces of advice that have helped us in the past, and we have full belief that they could help you you stay on track with your progress so far and come back from your trip feeling amazing, feeling accomplished, proud, rejuvenated, and inline with your highest health priorities! Do you want to know the 3 rules for a healthy spring break trip?

Your spring break trip doesn't mean you have to lose traction on all the health progress you have made the last few months! Here are 3 rules to keep those healthy choices going even on vacation.

Here’s the 3 rules for a healthy spring break trip:

#1: Make One Good Choice At A Time

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” – Lao Tzu

You have most likely heard the above saying at one point or another.

What it means in your case is that the journey to the “HEALTHIER you” is taken one step at a time, one step in the “correct” direction at a time. Your decisions ultimately shape your destiny.

Sometimes we overwhelm ourselves when it come to achieving our dreams by looking at this scary, big, complicated path to our dream and thinking that it is just so much to figure out and as a result:

End up not doing anything. Or in a better case: Take a long time before we get started.

What we fail to realize, is that we do not need to have it all figured out, we just need to START, and take it ONE STEP at a time, ONE CHOICE at a time.

You might be thinking it is very difficult to maintain your health progress during your trip after all you are not in your familiar environment, you most likely are not able to prepare your own food, or workout during vacation, you will be surrounded with sweet temptations (Literally), and the list goes on…

But we are here to tell you, you just need to focus on ONE thing, and that is just choose the better (healthier) option anytime you have to choose what to eat.

Doing that alone, will 50% guarantee that you will stay inline with your health goals and come back from your trip feeling VICTORIOUS!

Now onto the other 50%.

#2: Prepare not Repair

“Success depends upon previous preparation and without such preparation, there is sure to be failure.” – Confucius

Okay that quote might be a little too intense, but that just how Confucius rolled.

The truth of it cannot be ignored, imagine you’re sky diving and the guide says “Hey, by the way we’re not that prepared this time around but it’s all good, you not need to worry, we’ll fix anything that happens when we’re down there.” Um, would you jump? Most likely not.

Now you going on your Spring Break trip unprepared is kind of like going skydiving unprepared, it’s gonna be scary, it’s gonna be risky to say the least, and repairing the damage might take a while.

Okay I am obviously over exaggerating to make a point, but the point is this, preparation is one of the biggest components of success in any endeavor.

That example points out WHY preparation matters, now we are going to share one of the Hows .

One of the best ways that you can prepare for your trip is to make sure you have good nutritious snacks that will fuel you, so that you don’t end up making bad choices out of the lack of better options, and out of hunger.

At KiZE Concepts we make delicious, nutritious, All Natural Energy bars, that will help FUEL you with REAL food. With only 4-6 ingredients, our bars will help keep you prepared, energized, and on path with your health priorities anytime, anywhere!

KiZE Bars are delicious, nutritious, All Natural Energy bars, that will help FUEL you with REAL food. With only 4-6 ingredients, our bars will help keep you prepared, energized, and on path with your health priorities anytime, anywhere!

Having some of our bars on you during your trip will ensure that you make a healthy choice when you are in a situation where your options are limited and you are on the go!

It is way better and easier to prepare than to try repair the damage later.

# 3: Set your standards

“Any time you sincerely want to make a change, the first thing you must do is to raise your standards.”- Tony Robbins

Success is not all about what you do, but often times it is about what you do not allow any more, in yourself, around you, and in your life.

That is very true on a Spring Break trip! During a trip it is not all about all the new health things you start doing, like doing a new special “vacation” workout, or a diet, or anything along those lines, that determines your health success. Rather it is all about what you do not allow anymore.

We are not going to tell you what you should choose as your standards, since everyone is different, and has different desires, but what we are saying is that you should clarify your standards for yourself. That one act will set you leaps ahead in your journey.

Some examples could be such as the following:

  • I will not allow sodas
  • I will not allow myself to eat after 10 pm
  • No more than 2 sugary foods a day

Drawing those boundaries, setting those standards, will make decision making easier for you, and will also play a huge role in your success.

Lastly we want to leave you with this, you are going on a vacation, so have fun, enjoy yourself, but maintain some discipline, it will eventually lead you to be happier, proud of yourself, and confident in your ability to achieve what you want! Don’t let your trip leave you feeling depleted, defeated, and disappointed, afterwards. Instead follow the rules above and you will be guaranteed to come back feeling mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually REJUVENATED, and ready to take on the world!

What is one rule you follow to maintain a healthy Spring Break Trip?

Go out there, BE GREAT! And LOVE PEOPLE!

“Prepare not repair.” I love that quote – not only for making healthy choices but as a daily mantra! I think I will start using that with my students!

So far I have zero plans for spring break week. Hopefully I’ll be able to enjoy some time with my kids, but my hubby has to work so we aren’t doing anything special and my routine won’t change much other than having the kids home.

For sure try them out! I tried the peanut butter one at the expo where I met them. It was pretty good. Different texture than other peanut butter bars I have had.

I’m glad the post was supportive for you, Maria! It’s all about one choice at a time. Sometimes that’s one choice a day. Sometimes that’s one choice every hour or even less!

Great post, Cassie and KiZE team! I love the reminder that we just need to take the next healthy step, then the next and the next. Sometimes we think that we need to do everything at once, but that’s overwhelming. So thanks for the reminder to just do the next thing that’s good for your body.

That’s so true, Gaye! Often times in life we feel like we must have this big grand plan to follow. Which ultimately makes us feel overwhelmed. But in reality it all starts with the one step!
