As you all know last week Ryan and I were at the 2012 London Olympics! Read how we were able to go on this trip for free here if you have not heard the story. It was an amazing adventure that I am having trouble putting into words when people ask me how it went! Needless to say we have come home with hundreds of pictures to try to portray the experience to everyone. Although the pictures can not even compare to the real deal!
This week I will be walking you through each of our days and what we did and saw. I will post a few pictures and tell you about the day, but then there will be a slide show at the bottom where you can view several more pictures from that day.
On Sunday we arrived at the airport at 8am here in Tulsa. 16 hours later we arrived in London at 6am their time on Monday morning. We slept about 2 hours on the flights. We are welcomed at the airport with a lovely sign with our names on it!

We then proceed to the hotel and attempt to check in. It was too early for our early check in, but they kept our bags for us so we could head to the Olympic park. We took the Tube (or subway) towards the stadiums. We were warned to get off one stop before to avoid horrible traffic issues and that it was a 5 minute walk to the park. Once off the tube and walking for a bit the first sign we see says “Olympic Park 25 min walk” with an arrow pointing ahead! ha. We finally get there. The walk the first day seemed forever, but it didn’t seem so bad after a few times.

We watched some track stuff which is called “athletics”. There were a lot of people!

At this point we had been up for more the 24 hours with only a little nap on the plane. We were literally falling asleep at the track events. We decided to go back to the hotel to check in and take a nap. Our hotel was fancy!
After our nap we headed back out to the Olympic park where we saw some diving, hockey, and basketball.

We also found out that in the Olympic family lounges that we had access to from our VIP badges there was yummy food! Each night we ate in the lounges and got to try new foods!

We finished our day at 2am London time. Seeing how the basketball game did not even start until 10:15 it was a late night!
We could not believe the treatment and access we had with the badges. We had great seats at the venues and all the food/drinks we could ever want. People escorting us to places and special transportation just for us. I felt like a queen!
