As you can probably relate life can get hectic and very busy. Sometimes we (us, you and all those other people) get caught up with work, school, kids, errands and a list of things to do a mile long. In turn we forget to thank our significant other for the big things or small things that they do.
With all of life’s distractions its easy to forget to say “Thank You” Thankful Thursday is a day set aside that we make sure we thank our significant other for the big things or the little things that they do or have done. We encourage you to take this time to thank your significant other for things they have done. You can write them a note, send them an email, text them or even tell them face to face… The point is let them know!
While you’re at it leave a comment below sharing what you are thankful for!
A big part of our life is the training and racing. Needless to say that makes some things a bit dynamic in our relationship. What to have for dinner to fuel the long workout the next day, making sure we are in bed on a decent time and figuring out who will be in charge of starting dinner. Some days one of us or both will have a workout after work, which we then plan for a faster dinner or the other one starts it.
Also with training being a big part of our life, the fact that I am a teacher sometimes makes our life a bit more dynamic as well. I bring home work to do, have Saturday parent/teacher conferences or stay late after school to do an activity. Again these kinds of things determine food choices and evening activities.
This week when I got overwhelmed by all my todo’s and extra activities, Ryan simply asked what can I do to help you. Ryan is always supportive no matter what is going on. He asks about my after school events, he encourages me to get my afternoon workouts in, he starts dinner and does household chores.
I am thankful that Ryan and I can be supportive in what we each do as a career and hobby. I have heard several situations where that is not true in a marriage. I feel that not everyone would be excepting of what I do, yet I know without a doubt Ryan is and supports me every step of the way! That is what I am thankful for on this Thankful Thursday!
What are you thankful for today in your relationship?
