As men and women we obviously have different shopping behaviors. Within each gender there is then different shopping behaviors for each person just like any other personal characteristic. The difference between Ryan and I shopping behaviors became apparent pretty fast in our relationship.
Example 1: I go the the grocery store to purchase what we need for that week and no more. Ryan may come back with some extra things and say, “It’s ok if we have extra. We will be stocked up.” (I think this comes from his mom- but we will talk about that on our next post 😉 )
Example 2: I find some running /cycling gear that I like so I keep the tags so I know what they are for when I need some more. Ryan goes back to the store and buys 2 more.
Here is the funny/not so funny part about this: The past few months I have went to go purchase something that seems to be a typical purchase….AND GUESS WHAT!?! The store no longer carries the product!!! After this occurred several times I started to understand the reason Ryan was buying multiples of things when he found something he liked.
Cereal, dry shampoo and soap?…oh we have some now! Multiples of each!
So here is the deal maybe Ryan is just older (5 years) and wiser than I am! haha. Maybe he ran into this problem a while back and this is now his way to eliminate it.
He has now converted me over! The thing about this that I noticed is once the product is no longer carried (have to find on the internet) or carried by few retailers the product becomes higher in price. Which means buying in multiples could actually be more cost effective in the long run!
It is quite funny how my shopping behaviors have now changed because of this realization/experience!
