It’s normal for us to get overwhelmed. It’s even easy to feel completely overwhelmed with life. There are so many things that demand our attention and need our energy. With self care it’s a little easier to combat the overwhelm, but many of us never learned about self care.

For me the attention my 5 year old and 2 year old need is exhausting. Being a business owner can be stressful. Maintaining a healthy marriage is hard work. There are lots of joys in my life, but there is also a lot of overwhelm. That is just the truth. I have a morning routine to help me be successful. I have put some boundaries in place. And I have come to realize just how important self care still is.

Self care can be smaller things that you do at home or spending time by yourself. But for me it goes into a little more than that. I have found that when I am feeling completely overwhelmed self care treatments are what I need. Over time I have found several self care treatments that have had great impact on me. Physically and emotionally.

Often times when we are feeling completely overwhelmed self care treatments can be an effective way to rest our minds and bodies.

Feeling Completely Overwhelmed Self Care Treatments:

BioTech Energy Patches- One morning I woke up to my right arm not being able to rotate forward at all. I sought out a lot of medical support without many answers. My chiropractor had helped me with lots of things before so I went to see him. He ended up putting these patches on me. It was the only thing that enabled me to move my arm. It was the strangest of things!!!

Since that experience I have learned more about these patches. Although I don’t know all the science I am understanding it more and more. And seeing how it truly works it makes me interested to know more. Here is how their website explains it: “BioTech Energy Patches work with bio-frequency signals. It is designed to interact with the energy of the human body to balance cellular communication for a specific therapy that is infused into each BioTech Energy Patch.”

This past month I have been using their “Emotional Rescue” and “Stress & Anxiety” patches. The biggest difference that I notice is that I am not triggered as easily into the rage I was previously feeling about the littlest of things. This is a HUGE win and changes my day to day life! (They have patches for many things. Hormones, detoxing, allergies and more.)

I love seeing my chiropractor and the work they do is amazing. However, I am really grateful that I can get my hands on these patches myself! Right now many of the patches are on sale for $47 for a month supply. You can also use my referral code “trueagape” to get an additional 10% off.

Float Tank- This is exactly as it sounds. It is a tank of water you go float in. Now if you are anything like me and struggle to float normally do not worry. You will float in this tank! This tank is filled with a lot of Epson Salt that makes it super easy for you to float.

The reason float tanks are good for you is it deprives your body from a lot the external stimuli like sights, sounds, touches and gravity. The salt also has benefits to sore muscles and stimulating cellular repair. It typically is an hour long session where I fall asleep. It’s a time where I can nap and know my body is getting some extra self care!

For those who are local I enjoy going to Recovery Therapy here in Tulsa. I am sure you can find a local place just by googling float tank therapy though!

Craniosacral Therapy- While at a bloggers event at The Skin Spa & Boutique I learned that this therapy can support your nervous system in resetting. Since I was struggling with so much anger I thought I might be stuck in the fight mode from some past traumas. I booked my appointment right away.

It was so interesting to hear how the energy was moving through my body, what was easy to be released and what was harder to get balanced. After the therapy I did feel relaxed and peaceful.

The Skin Spa & Boutique describe the services as: A form of bodywork that address the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain.

Reiki- This is a treatment that I also got done at The Skin Spa & Boutique. After having a sneak peak of this at the blogger which was fascinating I wanted to do a full session. It was a bit unique in the sense of she was telling me things about my aura, things about my past and my future.

But the thing that was most helpful with self care is my shoulder had been so tight and was having trouble getting it to release. She did some work in my shoulder where she said she released some “hooks” or emotions/events from long ago. After the session was over that was the best my shoulder had felt in a long time.

With this treatment there is no manual or physical manipulation of the body. Very unique to have that kind of release without being worked on physically. The Skin Spa & Boutique describe Reiki as: A subtle but effective treatment. Reiki Energy Work helps to connect to the energy pathways of body to find balance & harmony within.

Often times when we are feeling completely overwhelmed self care treatments can be an effective way to rest our minds and bodies. Over the last year I have really learned that self care has several different levels. There are boundaries that can be self care, there can be things that are done at home to help relax and then there can be treatments with professionals. All of these options are great self care choices!

The next time you are feeling completely overwhelmed with life try one of these self care treatments.

What kind of self care do you enjoy most?

Until Next Time- Truly Love,
Cassie
